From the Dead Reckonings book. This turned out to be a 'so so' module because the writer was a better horror writer than a investigation writer. When you have players that are trained to look for things standard investigators would at a crime scene, they get frustrated when the author didn't really consider much of it. And it was 'wait for it' module. There was nothing the PC's could really have done to move it forward and be proactive. You had to wait for it to unfold. I will do a lot of modifications to this module before running it in the future.

For those that have been asking 'What is Heroic Cthulhu':

I tried running normal Cthulhu on and off over the years (I've been GM'ing for approx 30 years) and I had a problem - the characters kept dying or going insane too quickly to develop a campaign. It was frustrating for me because I liked the Cthulhu system. Level based systems have way too many problems and the mentality of the level based system is never something I've enjoyed.

So, I decided to modify the rules of the BRP (basic roleplay - which is what Cthulhu and a couple other game systems use. I took ideas from a couple other game systems I had played and added 'poz' (which are basically karma points that have to be used in specific ways) as well as 'cards' (hand made card deck with good things and bad things in it).

It had the effect of vastly speeding up combat, making the characters much more resilient and the system overall became more 'fun'. I've run Heroic Cthulhu for something like 8+ years now and finally have a system I am happy with.

Some people have called it 'pulp Cthulhu' although Chaosium has something called that in the works (still, I think it's been a few years now) but to keep it different I call it Heroic Cthulhu.

The players are not so tough that they can take on major gods though if there are enough of them they can gang up on one avatar and kill it. I like this system because it gets rid of the problem of either going through a ream of character sheets every session or the GM running nothing but one shots. Most Cthulhu players I've polled don't actually play COC more than 5 hours a month so the normal system is fine for them but I game 20 hours PER WEEK so I needed something that would be good for a long run.

I had tried to run the Pagan Publishing's 'Full Circle' (the first two adventures simultaneously. I had not planned on publishing them for the following reasons:

1. First, it was an unsuccessful module for the players. While I have no problems publishing the groups failures as well as their victories, the following other problems make it dubious.

2. The reason I had to run two modules at once was that each on it's own was considered (by a former group) 'slow and dull'. Sadly, running two 'timed' mods at once short circuited the group brain.

3. The modules were not very good.

4. Because I am an idiot, I managed to *lose* part of the middle of the module (turns out system restore didn't bring it back. It made me sad.) and believe I may have recorded some of the same tracks multiple times. I'm still learning and one of the lessons I think I've learned is not to stay up real late and try to do this stuff when I'm dog tired.

But, enough people asked for them so here they are. WARNING - this is NOT the top of the line.
